What is Orton-Gillingham?

Orton-Gillingham(OG) is a well-established and proven method for teaching reading. It requires teaching multi-sensory phonics in a systematic way.

Who should learn to read using OG?

OG is effective for teaching reading to ANY student and can be used in regular classrooms to great success. It is especially effective for students who are dyslexic or struggling readers! Students who may need personalized instruction should participate in one-on-one OG tutoring for best results.

What can CAST’s Dyslexia Resource Center do for my child?

in the 2023/24 school year CAST will offer in-school, small group OG after school in Washington County. CAST will also offer private one-on-one OG tutoring for any student in Washington County. We also offer Summer Reading Programs. Tutors have completed the Orton-Gillingham Reading Specialist Training.
